John (Jiggs) Nebraski, 80, of Poteau, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2003. He was born Sept. 29, 1922 in Western Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau., a Boy Scout and a Scout Master for several years and was involved with both the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and a resident of the Poteau area for 3-1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie (Oswald) Nebraski; brothers Callie, Jack, Paul and Dana; and one sister, Madge.

Survivors include his wife Faye of the home; two sons, Kenneth Nebraski and wife Judy of Havlock, N.C., and Harold Nebraski of Poteau; three grandchildren, Rhonda Sue Mitchell of Arlington, Texas, John Nebraski and Charles Lee (Chuck) Nebraski, both of Havlock, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Kory Mitchell of Chesapeake, Va. and Stephanie Mitchell of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Dave Nebraski and wife Martha of Union Town, Pa.; three sisters, Millie Schepski and husband John of Union Town, Pa., Loretta Cramer of Greensburg, Pa. and Donna Rogers of Dunbar, Pa.; three sisters-in-law, Betty Nebraski of Union Town, Pa., Mildred Nebraski of Dunbar, Pa. and Betty and Sam Weir of Davidson, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and many beloved friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at First Christian Church in Poteau. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

The family will be at Evans & Miller Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 22 to visit with relatives and friends.
