Joseph Arnold Nelson, 72, of Fanshawe, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Wilburton. He was born May 26, 1930 at Poteau. He was a logger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Versa (Hensley) Nelson; one sister, Lavera Hicks; and two brothers, Merrel Nelson and Darrel Nelson. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Vidacak of Muskogee and Debra Nelson of Tulsa; three sons, Randy Nelson of Wagoner, Terry Nelson of Barnsdall and Jackie Nelson of Tulsa; two sisters, Artha Smith and Francis Gregory, both of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 in Summerfield Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Covey officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miler Funeral Home of Poteau.
