Euell D. Newby, 64, of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away Monday, July 14, 2003. He was a retired fire fighter for the Fort Smith Fire Department, a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Jenny Lind, Ark., a cement mason and a member of the Air National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Euell A. Newby; and a son, Allen Newby.

Survivors include his wife Vela Newby of Fort Smith; one daughter, Angela and husband Shane Reeves of Greenwood, Ark.; one son, Stacy Newby of Fort Smith; his mother, Ileen Newby of Fanshawe; one sister, Rene Coley of Monnett, Mo.; one brother, Gary Newby of Poteau; three grandchildren, Tiffany and A.J. Newby and Ryan Reeves; and one great-grandchild, Alley Newby.

The family will visit with friends at Edwards Funeral Home Wednesday, July 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17 at Faith Baptist Church of Jenny Lind, Ark. Burial will follow in Maxey Cemetery at Wister under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Randall Jones, Chris Scherff, Ross Griggs, Ronnie Brooks, Richard McGee, Charlie Sharp, Randall Smith and Mike Talley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Atkinson, Arler Monday, Corky Barr, Larry Kilgore, Ed Kline and Willie Wikman.
