Boyd Gilbert Pettyjohn, 64, of Whitesboro, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003. He was born Dec. 11, 1938 in Albion to John Henry and Vera Hartwick-Pettyjohn. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He retired as a police captain in Little Rock, Ark. in 1985. He was a member of the Whitesboro Baptist Church. He loved being outdoors and caring for his cattle.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Pettyjohn.

Survivors include his wife Doris Pettyjohn of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Waylon Wilson; one grandson, Cole Wilson of Whitesboro; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Annie Marie and Rheanolte LeBarbour of Hilton, N.Y. and Lorene Pettyjohn of Paris, Texas; his mother of Paris, Texas; nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Whitesboro Baptist Church with the Revs. Alvin Branscum and Mark O. Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Branscum, Don Culley, Larry Baxter, Artis Potts, Ellis Green and Kevin Mings.
