Dorothy E. Pride, 86, formerly of Abilene, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2003, in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe D. Pride; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson. Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Joe "Dot" Laurence and husband C.M. of Abilene, Judith Kay "Judy" Ivy and her husband Lloyd of Poteau, and Carol Elaine McKinney and her husband Mike of Garland, Texas; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held on Monday, June 9 in Cedar Hill Cemetery at Abilene, Texas with Dr. Tom Lyda officiating. Pallbearers were her grandsons. A memorial service followed at the First Christian Church, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Lyda and her granddaughter's husband Robert McClure officiating.
