Kenneth Shoate, 58, of Spiro, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at Fort Smith. He was born April 17, 1944 at Fort Coffee to Levester and Lula (Brown) Shoate. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Roderick Shoate; and one daughter, Karen Shoate. Survivors include his wife Pamela of the home; one daughter, Paula Shoate of Milwaukee, Wis.; four sons, Nathan Shoate, Nathaniel Shoate, Terry Shoate and Thomas Shoate, all of Fort Coffee; five sisters, Virginia McCurtain of Fort Coffee, Rebecca Walker of Grandview, Mo., Paulette Sims of Oklahoma City, Yvonne Henderson of Grandview, Mo. and Charlotte Gordon of Norman; four brothers, Billy Cutchlow of Kansas City, Mo., L.J. Shoate of Oklahoma City, Harvey Shoate and Myron Shoate, both of Fort Coffee; his mother, Lula Shoate of Fort Coffee; and one grandchild, Darvis Shoate of Fort Smith. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
