Will Divide The Reward

Guthrie, O.T., Feb 17 - Governor Ferguson has received a letter from Deputy United States Marshal Haskett at South McAlester, I.T., in which the latter recommends that half of the $500 reward offered by Oklahoma for the capture of Outlaw Morely be paid to the children of Sam Sorrellis and half to Ralph Scargall. Sorrellis formerly lived in Cleveland county and was killed in the night near Spiro last winter with the Casey gang of bandits. Morley was killed in this fight. Scargall was a member of the posse.

Governor Ferguson will follow Haskett's recommendation in paying the reward.

Reward Paid For Murderer Who Killed Two Farmers

Guthrie, Okla. February 12 - Governor Tom Ferguson today authorized the payment of a #250 reward to Deputy Marshal R. H. Scargall, for the killing of Sam Morely, the outlaw, who was charged with murdering Jacob Hartman, a Bohemian farmer, near Noble, in Cleveland County, in March 1902. It (sic) attempting to arrest Morely, the later was killed by Deputy Marshalls Sorrells and Scargel (sic), near Spiro, I.T. in January 1903. In the fight Sorrells was also killed, and Scargall (sic) was critically wounded. There was a reward of $500 offered by Governor Ferguson, and the other $250 will be given to Sorrell's heirs.
