Jim V. Stallings, 71, of Heavener, passed away Friday, June 6, 2003. He was born May 6, 1932 at Blue Water, N.M. He was a member of the Forrester Baptist Church and had been a rancher all of his life.

Survivors include his wife Sue Stallings of the home; one daughter, Debbie S. Cook and husband Mark of Talihina; three sons, Jimmy W. Stallings and wife Lynn of Cauthron, Ark., David Stallings and wife Rhetta, and Heath Stallings and wife Kim, all of Heavener; 12 grandchildren, Corey and Cherrine, Shawn and Sandy, Carrie and Dusty, Travis and Melody, Seth, Lydia Joshua and Michaela; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Germayne Carver and Lee of Blue Water, N.M.; other relatives and loved ones; and many beloved friends.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9 at Forrester Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Cook officiating. Burial followed in Monroe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
