Richard Stamper
POCOLA — Richard Watts Stamper, 54, of Pocola died Friday, Sept. 19,
2003, in his home. He was born June 22, 1949, in Manistique, Mich. He
was an OTR truck driver for C. Bean Transport Co., an Army veteran of
Vietnam and a recipient of the Purple heart.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery
Pavilion in Fort Smith under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral
Home of Pocola.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Harlow Stamper; three children,
Tammy Lewis of Raleigh, N.C., Lori Samper of Cambridge, Mass., and
Bernie Evans of Durham, N.C.; his father, Harold Stamper of Curtis,
Mich.; two brothers, Rodney Stamper of Elkhart, Ind., and Ronnie Stamper
of Curtis, Mich.; two sisters, Judy Laseman of Grand Rapids, Mich., and
Janet Thibodeau of Elkhart, Ind.; four grandchildren, Ronnie and Daniel
Scoggins and Kodie and Jade Rose Lewis; and many other relatives and
friends.
