Tony Stoknes, 14, of Talihina, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003. He was born June 18, 1988 in Colorado Springs, Colo. to David John and Sandra Allen-Stoknes. He was a member of the eighth grade class at Whitesboro School, a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church and the Methodist Youth Group, the Whitesboro baseball and basketball teams, and the FFA and enjoyed weightlifting. He thought that his little sister, Sassy hung the moon. He loved to tell stories and jokes and ride his bike; he was full of life and was a prankster. He loved to hunt and work in the field and drive the tractor to help his grandparents.

He was preceded in death by his father, David John Stoknes.

Survivors include his mother, Sandra Silkwood of the home; four brothers, Dusty Tholl, Justin Powell, Ray Silkwood and Daniel Hughlett; four sisters, Sassy Newell, Jennifer Griggs, Andrea Powell and Stacy Franks; maternal grandparents, Tex and Liz Allen of Whitesboro; paternal grandparents, John and Judy Whitney and Einer and Madge Stoknes of Washington; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; basketball teammates; special friends, Thug and Roy Ivey Jr., Duane O'Dell, Joe Barlow and Jon Williams.

Tony's shindig will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Whitesboro School gym with the Rev. Cecil Holcomb officiating. Cremation services provided by Talihina Funeral Home.
