Frankie Morgan Underwood, 90, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2003. She was born June 5, 1913 in Weatherford, Texas to John Frank and Lillie (Williams) Morgan and married William Wayne Underwood early in life, they had five children. Frankie was a retired schoolteacher and taught for many in Texas, California and Arkansas. She taught all age groups of children but her favorite age group was the first graders. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for several years. Her favorite hobbies were reading, traveling, piecing quilts, crocheting and taking care of the elderly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Larry Wayne Underwood; and one daughter, Salita.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with the Rev. LeRoy Sommers officiating, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

Pallbearers will be Bud Underwood, Bill Underwood, Terry Underwood, Jim Gotham, Brent Gotham and Dustin Gotham.
