Jack Walters, 81, of Spiro, formerly of Haskell, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003. He was born Dec. 15, 1921 at Vian to John and Ethel (Walters) George. He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J.R. Walters; and one son, Danny Carpenter.

Survivors include his wife Pauline of the home; one daughter, Linda Bell of Eufaula; one son, Ed Carpenter of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Joe Townsley of Okmulgee, Darren Townsley of Checotah and Jeremy Carpenter of Dallas, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Mallory Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Lee Mattox officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial City Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

SPIRO — Jack Walters, 81, of Spiro, formerly of Haskell, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Spiro.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Memorial City Cemetery in Haskell.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; a daughter, Linda Bell of Eufaula, Okla.; a son, Ed Carpenter of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
