Eugene W. Eidschun was born June 3, 1913, in McCurtain, Oklahoma. Eugene was the son of Leopold Wilhelm and Mary Catherine (Gussio) Eidschun. Except for time of service in the U.S. Army during World War 11, he lived in LeFlore County until his death on May 16, 1973.
He married Loyce Palmer on December 8, 1942. He was a prisoner of war for 14 months before his discharge from the Amy in 1945. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Patricia, of the home.

He worked as a miner and later as a carpenter for Gatie Frank Construction and Ollie Lumber Company. He was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at the First Baptist Church in Shady Point.
He is survived by two sisters, Mahdeen Beutelschies of Shady Point and Nonie Furtado of San Jose, California; and two brothers, Billy James of Poteau and Harry Lester of San Jose, California.
Cause of death was heart disease. He had undergone open heart surgery in August of
1968 at the veterans' hospital in Oklahoma City.
