    William Barton Hood was born Feb. 24, 1845 in Chesterfield (Macoupin Co.) Illinois, and died May 18, 1929 in Panama (LeFlore Co.) Oklahoma. He was buried May 1929 in Spiro, LeFlore County Oklahoma, New Hope Cemetery. He was the son of Ausburn P. (E.P.) (Osbourn) and Fannie __?__ Hood. 

He married Mary Peebles July 26, 1866 in Chesterfield, Macoupin Co. Illinois. She was born 1847 in Chesterfield, Macoupin Co., Illinois, and died Oct. 1, 1872 in Carroll County Arkansas. 

He married Mary Elizabeth Baker July 28, 1874 in Carroll Co. Arkansas.  

He married Sylvania Caroline Slusher July 15, 1881 in Carroll Co. Arkansas, daughter of Simeon Slusher and Keziah SALYER. She was born Apr. 14, 1862 in Clay Co. Kentucky, and died Nov. 5, 1943 in Lathem (LeFlore Co.) Oklahoma, burial Spiro, New Hope Cemetery. She was buried Nov. 1943 in Spiro, New Hope Cemetery, LeFlore County Oklahoma.

  • Columbus Green (Lum) Hood was born Jul 9, 1882 in Conway County, Arkansas, and died Aug 1, 1947 in Shady Point, LeFlore County, Oklahoma.
  • Simual Edward (Sim) Hood was born Oct. 26, 1884 in Missouri, and died Sept. 24, 1969 in Bokoshe, burial in Old Bokoshe Cemetery, LeFlore Co. Oklahoma. 
  • Charlie Hood was born 1886 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory,  and died 1886 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now LeFlore Co. Oklahoma).
  • Elmer Ruben (Tump) Hood was born Feb. 24, 1890 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, and died June 7, 1973 in Poteau, LeFlore Co. Oklahoma, burial in Oakland Cemetery. He married Ollie Isabelle Barnes 1913 in Spiro, LeFlore County Oklahoma, daughter of John R. Barnes and Jennette E. Adams. She was born 14 Apr 1896 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma), and died in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. 
  • Lillian F. Hood was born July 1893 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, and died 1989 in Ft. Worth Texas. She married Leard Mason.
  • Marion Frances Hood was born Aug. 18, 1895 in IChoctaw Nation, Indian Territory. He married Juell Ada Brown, daughter of Marion Francis Brown and Martha Jane Marchant. She was born 19 Mar. 1898, and died 3 Nov. 1987 in Oklahoma. 
  • Minnie Mae Hood was born Sept. 1898 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, and died 1969 in Panama, Fairview cemetery LeFlore Co. Oklahoma. She married John M. Moore. He was born 1892, and died 1969 in LeFlore County Oklahoma. 
  • Barton Roy (Bart) Hood was born 1902 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, and died in Moore, Resthaven Cemetery Cleveland Co. Oklahoma. He married Annie JOHNSON.

  • Alvis David HOOD was born 1875/76 in Arkansas and died in Arkansas. He married 1st __?__; 2nd Smantha Vaughan, daughter of Loranzo Dow Vaughan and Lauiea __?__. She was born 14 Nov. 1871; 3rd Mollie (Mrs.) Russell 4 June 1906 in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (LeFlore County Oklahoma). She was born Abt. 1869. 
  • James W. Hood was born 1877 in Arkansas. 

Child of William Barton HOOD and Mary PEEBLES is: 

  • John Osburn (Johnnie) Hood was born Oct. 8, 1867 in Chesterfield (Macoupin Co.) Illinois, and died Dec. 4, 1953 in Spiro, LeFlore County, Oklahoma, buried in New Hope Cemetery. He married Lorretta Bell. She was born 8 Oct 1879 in Tennessee, and died 15 June 1948 in LeFlore County Oklahoma. 

**Prior to statehood [Nov 1907] current LeFlore County was known as Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory.
