Lula McCurtain, 75, of Spiro, passed away Friday, April 19, 2002 in Fort Smith. She was born April 15, 1927 in Fort Coffee to Lace and Magnolia Shoate Griffith.
She was the mother of her church Faith Temple Church of God in Murry Spur and a deaconess of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Alphonso McCurtain; one son, Lace McCurtain; one daughter, Muriel Phillips; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include five sons, John McCurtain, Ocie McCurtain, Alphonso McCurtain and Rickey McCurtain, all of Spiro and Paul McCurtain of Tulsa; three sisters, Ester Lee, Emma Chambers of Spiro and Viola Eubanks of California; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Spiro School Gym. Burial will follow at
Fort Coffee Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
