David George McMillen, age 64, of Hot Springs Village, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002. He was born Sept. 22, 1938 to Kathryn Morgan McMillen and the late George William McMillen in Cabot, Penn. He graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, Penn., with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked for Diamond Shamrock Corporation for 25 years before joining the AES Corporation. He retired from his position of Vice President of the AES Corporation in 2000 after ending his career in Selby, England, as President of AES Drax, the largest power plant in Europe. He was a member of Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village, a member of Diamante Country Club and was on the Board of Trustees of the Carl Albert State College Development Foundation in Poteau, Oklahoma. 

In 2000, he and his wife Beverly moved to Hot Springs Village to enjoy their retirement. He was an expert bridge player, dedicated fisherman and avid runner and golfer who recently achieved his lifelong pursuit of a single-digit handicap. He enjoyed traveling, particularly throughout the United States with his wife and family. His biggest joy was relaxing and spending time with all of his loving family members. He touched many lives with his love, kindness and generosity. 

He was preceded in death by his son, George William McMillen II; brother Dale Davis McMillen; and wife Mary Etta Long McMillen. 

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kay McMillen of Hot Springs Village; his mother, Kathryn Morgan McMillen of Saxonburg, Penn.; three children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Pamela) Swedo of Guilford, Conn., Mr. and Mrs. Timothy (Laurie) Hutchings of Lewisville, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. John (Alisha) McMillen of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley (Carol) Walchesky of Cabot, Penn. and Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Kathy) Wellner of Saxonburg, Penn.; two grandchildren, Hailey Morgan Swedo and Marissa Morgan Hutchings; Kayette E. McMillen of Carrollton, Texas; and many loving friends and family. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at CedarVale Funeral Home, 200 Minorca Rd., Hot Springs Village. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, 700 Balearic Road. 

Memorials may be made in his honor to Grove City College in Grove City, Penn. or the American Heart Association.
