Lela A. Ward, 88, of Fresno, Calif., passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2002, in Poteau. She was born Aug. 11, 1913 in LeFlore to Gus Ward and Sallie LeFlore Ward.
She retired as an RN nurse of Poteau Hospital, Talihina Indian Hospital and Lawton Indian Hospital.
Survivors include one sister, Babe Ruth Raleigh of Apple Valley, Calif.; cousins, the Marshall family of Talihina, the Maddox family of Oklahoma City, the Matt Harris LeFlore family of California, Texas and Oklahoma City and Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held in Fresno, Calif. April 15 at Belmont Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Wild Rose Funeral Home.
