Poteau, LeFlore County, Oklahoma
September 20, 1984

Funeral services for Alfred Miles Pilkington, 91, of Poteau, Oklahoma, who died Monday, September 17, 1984,  at a Poteau hospital, were held Tuesday, September 18, 1984, at the First Christian Church in Poteau with the Rev. Don McClenny officiating.  Burial was at the Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

Mr. Pilkington was born on December 25, 1892, at Humboldt, Tennessee, and was a lifelong resident of Poteau, Oklahoma.  He was a retired fireman, a veteran of World War II and had worked for the City of Poteau for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; six grandchildren, Linda Dick, Dan Pilkington, Barbara Boone, Jan Fox, Sharon Eaves, and Steve Pilkington; and 16 great-grandchildren.


Gertrude Alice Pilkington, 89, of Poteau, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, June 5, 1985, in Poteau. She was a retired telephone operator and teacher and a member of the Poteau First Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 8, 1985, in the Poteau First Christian Church. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

She is survived by four granddaughters: Linda Dick of Jay, Oklahoma, Barbara Boone of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jane Fox of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Sharon Eaves of Lawton, Oklahoma; and two grandsons: Danny Pilkington and Steve Pilkington, both of Poteau, Oklahoma
