Wanda June Johnston Martinez Smith, 79, of Heavener, Okla., passed away June 4, 2004, in Heavener.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired church secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Heavener.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens Bowling League.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tamaira Harris; her father, Herman Johnston; and three husbands, William j. Martinez, Kenneth D. Smith and Wallace Dean Smith.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Harrison of Cape Girardeau, Miss., Wanetta McKay and husband Jerold of Heavener, and Terry Waymire and husband Jerry of Poteau, Okla.; two sons, Billy Martinez of Heavener and Kenneth D. Smith Jr. and wife Judy of Claremore, Okla.; her mother, Irene Johnston of Heavener; one brother, Herman L. Johnston Jr. of Shreveport, La.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted June 6 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Heavener. Interment will be in Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
