David Earl Thomas died Feb. 26, 2005 at the Latimer
County Hospital in Wilburton, Okla. He was 98. Born Dec. 2, 1906
in Iberia, Mo. he was a coal miner and rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents Crocket Mord and
Sarah Catherine Smith Thomas and wife Anna Grace Holycross
Thomas, one son David Joe Thomas, four brothers and four
sisters, Clyde, Everett, Billy, Claude, Evelyn, Blanche, Ella
and Edna.
His daughter-in-law, Patricia Thomas of Wilburton, survives
him, along with two grandsons, David Thomas and wife Amy of
Oklahoma City and Charles Thomas of Wilburton; two
granddaughters, Margaret Sorrell and husband Charles of
Wilburton and Tina Calvin of Wilburton; great-grandchildren,
Hunter Thomas of Edmond, Mike and Patricia Ellis of Wilburton
and Charles Sorrell of Wilburton; great-great-grandchildren,
Riley Thomas of McAlester, Anthony and Morgan Ellis of
Wilburton; and several nieces and nephews.
Waldrop Funeral Home of Wilburton will conduct graveside
services at Oakland
Cemetery in Poteau, Okla. Services will be Wednesday, March
2 at 11 a.m., with Brother Doug Miller officiating.
