Col. Beringer never over looks an opportunity to have sport out of the passing events. On Monday morning, at a very early hour, he had a "telescope" rigged up on Main Street, through which many viewed the eclipse. The telescope consisted of several joints of stovepipe, on a step ladder, the end of the pipe being covered with smoked glass.
