Irene Boudreau Dies Monday
Purcell Resident for Many Years
Mrs. Irene Rebecca Boudreau, 67, resident of Purcell
for many years, died Monday in the McCuldy Memoral hospital a few hours
after she suffered a stroke at her home, 330 North Second.
Rosary was held Monday evening at the Yoakum church
chapel with requiem mass Tuesday morning at Our Lady of Victory church,
Father Kenneth Fulton, officating. Interment was in the family plot at
Hillside cemetery.
Born at Hot Spring, Arkansas, she came to Lexington
with her parents as a child. She was married to the late Medis
Boudreau, who died in 1947, and had made her home here, taking an
active part in the work of the Catholic church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anita Allen,
Oklahoma City, two sons, James of Wichita, Kansas, and Dale of Venice,
Florida, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hornbeck, Drumright, Mrs. Roy Bell,
Goddard, Kan.; two step-brothers, John and Leon McKay, both of Wichita;
a step-sister, Mrs. Gillmore Stratton, Kingfisher, and three
grandchildren.
Casket bearers were: Homer Boudreau, Buddy Williams,
T.O. Dunn, Leo Marquis, Fred Ozment, George Whitlock and Clarence Dumas.
