Rites Held for John Boudreau
Purcell Resident for 56 Years
John H. Boudreau, 66, resident of Purcell for the
past 56 years, died here Saturday afternoon at the McCurdy Clinic. He
had been in ill health since he suffered a stroke more than a year ago.
Last rites were conducted on Tuesday morning at 9
o'clock in Our Lady of Victory church, with the Father Louis Hugo
officiating. Interment was made in Hillside cemetery under the
direction of the Yoakum funeral home.
Born in Kansas on Nov. 3, 1880, he moved to Purcell
with his parents in 1891. He married Miss Rosanna Marcott on June 11,
1900 and during the last 26 years had been employed by the McElderry
Grocery. He was a member of the Forrester and Eagle lodges.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosanna Boudreau of
home address; two sons, Phillip and Andrew Boudreau, both of Purcell;
four daughters, Mrs. Helena Brinkle, Purcell; Mrs. Genevie Schumaker,
Lexington; Mrs. Pauline Bergschneider, Duncan; Mrs. Vera Naeher,
Oklahoma City; two brothers, Homer Boudreau, Purcell; Albert Boudreau,
Oklahoma City; four sisters, Miss Alda Boudreau and Mrs. Mary Williams,
both of Purcell; Mrs. Rose Sullins, Pampa, Texas; and Mrs. Carrie
Beumler, Oklahoma City.
Active casket bearers were: Neil McElderry, John H.
Wells, Ed Price, Jim Fenelin, Dolphus Dumas, and M. B. Larran.
Honorary bearers were: Louis Groothouse, Clarence
Angel, Reginald Walker, Walter Adamson, Don Cook, Lawson Harrison, Guy
Northcutt, and Will Talley.
