Beloved Dr. J.E. Cochran Is Paid Last Respects
Sunday McClain county residents paused Sunday to pay last respects
to Doctor J.E. Cochran who was buried in Hillside cemetery Sunday
afternoon. Dr. Cochran was loved and respected by thousands of McClain
county people. As a country doctor he had nursed and treated thousands
of people. He was an attending doctor when some of the most prominent
residents of Oklahoma were born in their former McClain county homes.
Doctor Cochran as an individual fit affectionately into the life of
McClain county people. He was a typical southern gentleman. Born in
Alabama, a son of a confederate family, he was endowed with a warm and
friendly personality and dedicated to the same organizations of society
and politics that were almost universal in McClain county. Like other
beloved county doctors who have finished their course in this life, he
will not be easily replaced in the life of the Byars community. Article
