Former Purcell Woman Dies
Roberta Boudreau Hilterbrand, 59, a former resident
of Purcell, died Feb. 12 in the South Community Hospital, Oklahoma
City, following an extended illness.
Born in Purcell on Sept. 28, 1922, she was a member
of the pioneer Boudreau familes who played important roles in the early
history of this young Indian Territory city. She was the daughter of
the late Homer and Vera Boudreau and was a 1942 graduate of Purcell
high school.
She married her high school sweetheart, Dewey
"Skeeter" Hilterbrand on Jan. 30, 1943 and later they moved to Oklahoma
City in 1948 where she lived until her death. She had been employed at
Kerrs Dept. Store and had been the owner and operator of D & J
antiques.
She had been active in Oklahoma City bowling leagues
for several years and was always keenly interrested in sports. She was
a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Purcell.
Services were held Monday in the Yoakum Memory
Chapel, with Father John G. O'Brien officiating. Interment was in the
family plot in Hillside cemetery.
In addition to her husband of the home in Oklahoma
City, she is survived by two sons, Jerry E. of Oklahoma City; Dewey H.
of Moore; one brother, Kenneth Boudreau of Milipitas, Calif.; a
sister-in-law, Hazel Boudreau of Oklahoma City and two grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Terry Dewey, Rick Nicholas, Dana
Hays, Ron Mayfield, Ronnie Boudreau, Bob Brown, David Keel and Mike Day.
