Arnoldview School - This school was in district # 50, and was organized April 8, 1913. The original building was destroyed by fire in 1923. The school was rebuilt and eventually closed in 1959.

Banner School - This school was in district # 47, and was organized in 1916. The original building only had one room, in 1927 a second room was added. The school was eventually closed in 1962.

Blackburn School - The Blackburn school was in district # 33, and was organized about 1908. This school closed and became a part of what is now called Newcastle School System in 1920.

Blantonview School - This school was in district # 48, and was organized around 1908. After 1917 this district separated and district merged with Maysville and closed in 1955.

Bond School - The Bond School was in district # 31, and was organized about 1908 and closed in 1928.

Box Elder School - This school was in district # 05, and was organized abt 1907. The school had not been named when the school term first started and the children and the teacher brought box elder trees to plant on the grounds and the school was given the name Box Elder. The school was eventually closed in 1941.

Bradley School - District and dates unknown.

Bryant School - This school was in district # 12, and was organized in 1908. The original building was destroyed by a tornado in 1910. The school was rebuilt and eventually closed in 1937.

Buffalo School - This school was in district # 27, and was organized in 1908. The school was closed in 1937.

Byars School - The Byars School was in district # 4, and was organized about 1907 (after statehood) and is still in operation today.

Canadian School - The school was in district # 8, and was organized about 1908 and closed in 1915.

Chism School - This school was in district # 1, and was organized before statehood. The school closed in 1948.

Clopton School - The Clopton School was in district # 42, and was organized about 1910 and closed in 1922.

Colbert School - Very little is know about this school. It was closed in 1939.

Cole School - The Cole School was in district # 43, and was organized about 1913 and closed in 1962.

Cook School - The Cook School was organized about 1912 and closed in 1948.

Criner School - This school was in district # 18, and was organized 1906. The school was closed in 1957.

Dare School - This school was in district # 19, and was organized in about 1908 or 1909 and closed in 1963.

Fairview School - This school was in district # 17, and was organized in 1889. The school was closed in 1957. Omer Lockmiller was a Board Member. He is my g-uncle.

Fox School - This school was in district # 40, and was organized in 1910. The original building was destroyed by a severe storm and was rebuilt and eventually closed in 1949.

Freeny - This school was in district # 28, and was organized in 1903. The school was closed in 1949.

French School - This school was in district # 37, and was organized in 1908. The original building stood until 1929 and a new building was erected. This school was closed in 1958.

Gallamore School - The school was in district # 38, and was organized about 1912 and closed in 1925.

Goins School - This school was in district # 16. It is unknown when this school was established, but was closed in 1953.

Goldsby School - This school was in district # 26, and was in operation by 1900. The original building was destroyed in a storm. The school was rebuilt and eventually closed in 1959.

Hawthorne School - I am not sure which district this school was in, but do know it was on Fox Street in Purcell, Oklahoma. It was a two story brick building with Special Ed classes outside the east doors. The cafeteria was east of the Special Ed classes. I know from personal knowledge it was in operation in the early 1970's. It had grades K - 6. Mr. Truman Harris was the Principal. Mrs. Bearman was the Kindagarden teacher, Mrs. Edith Grisham was the 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Sarah Moore was the 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Margaret Sparlin was the 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Hunt was the 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Dorothy Harrison the 5th grade teacher, and Mrs. Melton was the 6th grade teacher along with Mr. Harris. It was also called "South School". The building is now gone, but for those of us who went to Hawthorne School - it will always be in our memory.

Highland School - The Highland School was in district # 35, and was organized about 1909 and closed in 1922. The Highland pupils were sent to Newcastle.

Hopping School - This school was in district # 9, and was organized before 1907. The original building was destroyed by fire in 1923. The school was rebuilt and eventually closed in 1944.

Irving School - District and dates unknown.

Johnson - This school was in district # 24, and was organized in 1905. The school was closed in 1955.

Johnsonville School - This school was in district # 3, and was the first school in the territory, being organized in 1876. The original building was a two structure. The school was closed in 1950, when it combined with Byars.

Ladd School - This school was in district # 25, and was organized around the time of statehood. The school was closed about 1956.

Lakeview School - This school was in district # 32, and was organized after statehood. The school was closed in 1951.

Liberty Hill School - This school was in district # 14 and was started in 1908 and closed in abt 1949.

Lindsay Ridge - This school was in district # 30 and was organized abt 1900 and was closed 1941.

Lone Hill - This school was in district #49 and was started in 1908 and closed in 1951.

Mary Simpson School - District is unknown. This school was also called "North School. And I know it was in operation in the 1970's.

Midway School - This school was in district # 44. Years unknown.

Mitchell Hill School - This school was in District # 51. Years unknown

Oakhurst School - This school was in district # 45. The school started classes in 1913, it is unknown when this school closed.

Okra School - District and dates unknown

Payne School - This school was in district # 13, and started classes about the time of statehood, and was closed in 1953.

Pleasant Hill School - This school was in District # 34. It is unknown when this school opened but was closed about 1922.

Pleasant Valley School - This school was in district # 39. Dates of operation are unknown.

Pleasant View School - District and dates unknown.

Rice - District and dates unknown.

Rosedale School - This school was in district # 6. This school was open for classes in 1907 and closed its doors in about 1968.

Ross School - This school was in district # 46 and began classes about 1912 and closed its doors in about 1949.

Sandy School - This school was in district # 2 and was opened in aout 1903. The last classes at Sandy were in 1947.

Scoby School - This school was in district # 36. It is unknown when this school was organized, but closed its doors in 1955.

Signal Hill School - This school was in district # 7 and was organized in 1908. The school was named for an old signal used by Indians. Signal Hill was closed in 1951.

Simpson School - This school was in district # 20 and was started in 1913 and closed in 1938.

Stealey School - The district is unknown. But classes started in 1901 and closed in 1953.

Washington School (First) - Dates and district are unknown.

Washington School - This school is in district # 23 and is in operation today.

Wayne Schools - This school system is still in operation today.

Womack School - District and dates unknown.

Woody Chapel School - Woody Chapel was in district # 41, but the dates of operation is unknown.
