Left lady in striped blouse I think is Alice because I think the names are written backward to reason this out,the body language of the woman with the girl on her lap is not close. Now the woman,man,woman ,woman on the couch holding the girl. The girl is Janice Carol Sanders age 5, 5-16-47. I think the lady holding her is Just a friend Mrs. Elmore 2-1-1869 age 83. The man is Ben Smith age 80 1873. Now the other two women. Orlena Smith 2-14-1869 age 83 I believe is next to Ben on the right. I believe the youngest one is Alice Sipes 11-28-1892.On the bottom row I believe she has them all reversed too. Starting R to L . CORRECTION:

Thank you for sharing the picture of the Ben Smith family on the internet. My son called me this morning, gave me the address and asked me if I recognized anyone. My husband is the second from the right on the bottom row. Everything you have is pretty accurate except in your explanation, the man on the left of the top row is Bobby Eugene Shepard (my father in law) and his hands are on the shoulders of my mother in law, Violet Orlena Sipes Shepard. She is holding James Michael who is only a month old in this picture. Correction by Margo Shepard July 2002.
