This is a photo of my grandmother, Pearl Elizabeth Myers, born about August, 1883, Ft Worth, Tarrant Co., TX, and 3 of her children, born in Arbuckle, near Davis OK., taken around 1915, Arbuckle, I.T. Turner G. Slaughter born
1909, Arbuckle, I.T. Pearl E. Myers, first of two daughters of W.H.H. and Mary Jane "Molly" Brawley Myers, was born in Ft Worth TX. Her parents ran a coOK shack for the railroad and was working that coOK shack in Thackerville, in 1976 and some years after that. They quit the coOK shack and settled in Arbuckle I.T. about 1890-1895. W. H. H. and Molly, along with their son Winfield and his wife, Alice Brittenburg Myers, opened up and ran the first trading post in the Arbuckles, in which I have heard it referred to as a, "General Store", by my Aunt Marie Slaughter. The land the store was on was allotted to Winfield and Alice Myers because of Alice being of Indian heritage, and the store and structure was owned by W.H.H. and Molly Brawley Myers. Around 1920, W.H.H Myers tore down the Trading Post (General Store) structure and using the lumber from it, built himself another home (cabin) on another piece of land in the Arbuckle I.T. near Davis, OK. This is my understanding at this time. Pearl E. Myers married John William Slaughter in 1905 and had several children, these three children pictured were born in the Myers cabin , (or general store), in Ft Arbuckle territory about 8 miles from Davis, OK.
