SCOTT FAMILY OF MAYSVILLE, MILL CREEK, OK
THIS WAS THE YEAR WHEN
GRANDPA JONATHAN W. RISNER OF GARFIELD MO. HAD HIS DRIVER BRING HIM TO MILL
CREEK, OKLAHOMA
STORIES TOLD BY UNCLE WARREN SCOTT AND AUNT MARTHA
1. UNCLE WARREN IS HOLDING
A JACK KNIFE.
2. AUNT MARIE IS HOLDING A
PURSE THAT MELINDA RECEIVED BECAUSE MELINDA WANTED HER PURSE TO SHOW UP IN
PICTURE. IF SHE’D HELD THE PURSE IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN SEEN AND SHE WAS VERY
PROUD OF IT. MELINDA WAS TO OLD FOR DOLLS AND RECEIVED A PURSE INSTEAD.
3. ALL THE GIRLS COATS ARE
HAND ME DOWNS WITH THE ONE EXCEPTION ONE AND IT’S THE ONE ON AUNT LOTTIE. SHE
HAD THE NEW COAT AND IS THE ONLY ONE SMILING IN PHOTO. HA
3 a SIDE NOTE IS REQUIRED,
SHE’S SMILING AND THE REASONS? a SHE HAS A NEW COAT b SHE DOESN’T HAVE BANGS ON
HER HAIR, SHE CUT HER HAIR WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS. LOL NOTICE THE JAGGED EDGES.
NOW THAT’S A FUNNY STORY TO REMEMBER.
4. WHEN GRANDPA RISNER GOT
IN HIS CAR TO LEAVE OKLAHOMA, HE CALLED UNCLE WARREN OVER TO THE CAR AND GAVE
HIM A DOLLAR BILL. UNCLE WARREN SAYS HE REMEMBERS THE SPENDING SPREE HE WENT ON
IN TOWN. HA HE BOUGHT ALL KINDS OF THINGS INCLUDING A FRENCH HARP (HARMONICA)
AND HAD CHANGE LEFT OVER IN HIS POCKET. A DOLLAR COULD BUY A LOT OF THINGS IN
THOSE DAYS.
5. I’M SURE THE OTHER BOYS
HAD A PHOTO TAKEN ON THIS OCCASION AND SOMEONE MAY HAVE A COPY STORED AWAY IN A
TRUNK.
