Why Isn't Grandma Listed? |

||
Several things may have happened as to
why she is not listed.
1. She may not be buried there.
2. She may be buried there but
without a tombstone.
3. She may be buried there and had
a metal funeral home marker that has deteriorated.
4. I may have missed her in the
transcribing of the data.
5. The people doing the actual
registry in the cemetery may have missed her stone.
6. She may be buried there and had
a wooden marker which burned in a prairie fire.
7. She may have been buried under
a different name.
8. She may be listed under some
other surname spelling variation.
9. Her name may have been misspelled
by the monument maker, registrant or transcriber.
10. The registry is a listing of
tombstone readings, NOT a list of people buried in the cemetery.
NO tombstone; NO listing!
Every effort is made, by the staff
recording and transcribing the data, for accuracy. We have done 46
cemeteries in 3 years with over 40,000 names. We are only human
and make mistakes. These people are volunteers and do not get paid
for the thousands of hours they contribute. Some errors are sure
to have occurred.
I have seen all the above many
times and the answer is somewhere above.
Hope this helps,
Dennis
