Drew Cemetery

Charlotte Drew was the wife of John Drew and a sister to Judge Joseph A. Scales. Judge Scales was Chief Justice for the Supreme Court of the Cherokee Nation. Charlotte's husband John Drew served as a Lieutenant in General Stand Watie's Cherokee Mounted Volunteers, Confederate Army. It is not known if there are any more graves in the immediate vicinity of Charlotte's grave. Her tombstone stands alone in the middle of a plowed field, another forgotten pioneer of Indian Territory.
