I am helping my mother trace her mother's side of the family to find if there was indeed Cherokee Indian blood. With 7 children, my great-grandparents, Alford M. HACKER & Orlena (DAVIDSON) HACKER, came to Ft Cobb, Oklahoma, from Kentucky in 1907. They had 6 more children after coming to OK. In 1920, Alford and Orlena are living in Garvin County. Alford purchased a farm 8 and a half miles west & 2 miles south of Minco, Grady County, OK. Orlena died 30 July 1933 in Chickasha. Alford died 28 January 1943 in El Reno. Both Alford & Orlena are buried in Friendship Cemetery, southwest of Minco. Alford had donated the land on which Friendship Cemetery is located. At least 4 of their 12 children are also buried there. A daughter, Tennie, eloped with William Allen DUTTON to Stratford, Garvin County, OK, on 19 November 1919. Nine children were born to this union, with Mom being the youngest. W.A. DUTTON died 4 November 1970 at his home in rural Stephens County, OK. Tennie DUTTON died at a nursing home in Marlow, Stephens County, OK. They are buried at Bailey Cemetery, located in southeastern Grady County. Researching Grandpa DUTTON'S familyline has proven difficult. His grandfather, William Allen DUTTON, came from Chattooga County, Georgia, and fought in the Civil War. He died around the Bailey area in the 1900s. It is said he had a younger wife. If anyone has information on the DUTTON family, or the HACKER family, please e-mail me. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for information about Samuel and Martha Williams, ages in the 1860 census were 29 and 26, one of there children was Mary Magdaline Williams. Samuel was born in Arkansas around 1831 and Martha was born in Indiana around 1833, Mary was born in 1854 in Arkansas according to her death record. After the 1860 census they seemed disappear. Except that Mary married William Martin Kerns in Bentonville, AR in 1869.They moved to Oklahoma but I'm not sure when. May have been to Indian Territory. Most of the chidren were born in Arkansas. William was a preacher and supposedly went to the Indian reservations and that is were he met Mary. If any one Knows more information on this family, I would appreciate any help I can get.

She married Ellis Dean FULLER in Muskogee in 1921 and divorced there in 1927. It is believed that she retained her married name and was known as Ouida FULLER for the rest of her life and that she remained in the Muskogee area. She may be buried in Checota. I am seeking any information on her later life, the date and place of her death, and confirmation of her burial site. Looking for information on family from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma , around 1880 to 1930. WAGONER, ELZY, CORDELL, JONES, MITCHELL. My great grandmother was America Arnettie ' Nettie Anna ' ELZY, born June 12, 1872, in Murfreesboro, Pike Co., Ark., died April 27, 1955. She was married to John Wilson 'Pop' MITCHELL. They are both buried in Delano Cemetery, Delano California , along with my grandfather, Nettie's only child, Wilburn Douglas WAGONER born January 15, 1892 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Wilburn applied for a delayed birth certificate in 1941 which lists his father as Tom WAGONER, a farmer from Arkansas and that Tom was deceased. Wilburn's death certificate lists his father's name as Tom Wagoner from Oklahoma. There's a family story that Tom Wagoner was part Cherokee and that sometime after Wilburn Douglas was born, Tom took him to the Reservation. It is told then that Wilburn's mother, Nettie Anna went to the Reservation, was gone about three months and returned with Wilburn. The story is Tom would only allow Nettie to take Wilburn if she agreed to raise him as 'WAGONER'. The only information any of the family has ever been given about Tom was a story told by Pop Mitchell that Tom had a better horse and buggy and 'dazzled ' Nettie away from him " just like the girls are nowadays with a new car." It has also been told that Tom WAGONER was killed while on a cattle drive. Wilburn married twice. First to Jessie May TAYLOR born February 12, 1897 Montaque, Texas. They had two daughters Nettie Mae and Wilma WAGONER. His second marriage was to may grandmother Bertha Rachael CORDELL born may 11, 1903 in Marlowe, Oklahoma. Died October 18, 1979 in Bakersfield, California. Bertha's father was James Curtis CORDELL, he was from County Cork, Ireland. He was a shoemaker in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Shamrock, Texas. He died in 1949 in Mc Farland California. Bertha's mother was Minnie Elnora JONES born July 15, 1881 in Jackson, Mississippi to J.P. JONES and Rachel Caroline OWEN. James and Minnie were married on February 16, 1896. Minnie died December 14, 1963 in Mc Farland, California. My father is John James 'Jack' Wagoner born May 7, 1925 in Graham, Oklahoma. The Wagoner family left Pauls Valley, a couple of years after my father was born and moved to the Delano - Mc Farland, California were Wilburn eventually owned a gas station. John and Nettie MITCHELL left Oklahoma for Mc Farland soon after as did James and Minnie CORDELL. Also looking for info on William Bryant ELZY and wife Louisa Alabama ' Bama ' ALLEN, Nettie Anna's parents. Thank you, Curt Wagoner PO Box 238 Myers Flat, CA. 95554

I am interested in hearing from anyone who knows any family history (maternal OR paternal) of Rena Dunn Morgan, born in Indian Territory around 1896, lived around Comanche or Waurika in southern Oklahoma. She also lived many years in Lockney, TX (West Texas area). Husband was J.B. "Pete" Morgan. Her children were Mirl Morgan Lewis, Lois Morgan Quisenberry Colvin, and Lloyd Glenn Morgan. Only Lois Colvin survives at this time; she lives in Lockney, TX. Rena had one brother named Tracy Dunn, a brother Jessie Dunn, a nephew Carl Dunn, a nephew Chad Dunn, a great-nephew Mike Dunn, a sister Roxie (don't remember married name)and other sisters and brothers (whose names I don't remember at this moment) around the Comanche, OK area. Rena lived east of Waurika, OK, for many years (approx. 1954, when returning to Oklahoma after living in Lockney, TX) until sometime in the late 1970's, with her husband "Pete" Morgan. At that time they moved to live with their daughter Lois, back in Lockney, due to declining health. Both are deceased now for many years. Not only am I interested in finding out who my ancestors were from Rena Morgan, but I am also searching for evidence of Indian (Native American) heritage through Rena Dunn Morgan for additional certification purposes. Anyone who can shed even the "smallest" amount of light and provide information to me would be helping tremendously! Please email me at: sherry1371@cox.net OR at: cherokeeokie2002@yahoo.com, and I will reply to you and attempt to answer any questions you might ask (in order to verify whatever information you have about Rena's family). Thank you very much!!

This family has missing relatives we are seeking to connect with. Tribe is probably Cherokee on Comer second generation, other tribe uknown. We are seeking the siblings of Joseph Comer, Liza, their son THomas. Thomas son JC has the following siblings...Thelma, Voncile, Touklesh, Tommye, THurman, Tony--step or half sibling. Most have passed with the exception of one who is in a nursing home. THis family is originally from a Comer of Ireland. Ultimately they settled in Tx., Ok., and Ark. Any help would be appreciated. You are listed as researching Whisnant (sp) Me too. Does any of the following seem to match your line? Descendants of Robert Whisenant Generation No. 1 1. Robert1 Whisenant was born Abt. 1813. He married Margaret Mahalia Hannock 24 Jul 1859 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. She was born Abt. 1820 in North Carolina. Notes for Margaret Mahalia Hannock: Maiden name may have been Brown. May have been married to a Thomas Hannock before Whisenant. Age on various census records and marriage records seems to support a birthdate of 1820. The 1860 census shows her by the name of Mahala Whisenant, living in Montgomery County, Arkansas living without husband Robert, but with the following children: (See Below) These children most likely do not belong to BOTH Mahala and Robert as they were not married until 1859. They may be hers or his. Her son Robert James Whisenant is not listed although he was born in April, 1860. 1960 Arkansas Census Extract: Montgomery Gap Twp./905/373 Whisenant, Mahala 39 F W NC Whisenant, Nicholas 14 M W AR Whisenant, Joseph 12 M W AR Whisenant, Mary 10 F W AR Whisenant, Jane 8 F W AR Whisenant, Nancy 6 F W AR More About Margaret Mahalia Hannock: Census: 1860, Montgomery County, Arkansas Marriage Notes for Robert Whisenant and Margaret Hannock: Notes: From the Montgomery County book of Marriages: A-pg.151 Robert Whisenhunt, age 46, and Mahala Hannock, age 39, married on 7-24-1859 By: (no name). Children of Robert Whisenant and Margaret Hannock are: 2 i. Nicholas2 Whisenant, born Abt. 1846 in Montgomery County, Alabama. 3 ii. Joseph Whisenant, born Abt. 1849 in Montgomery County, Alabama. Notes for Joseph Whisenant: Whisnants through the Ages" lists a Joseph Whisenant who enlisted in Co I, 33rd AR Inf. Caddo, Gap, Montgomery Co, AR who's mother's name may have been Mahala. This is a list of Whisnants who fought in the Civil War and was compiled from the "Consolidated Index to Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers on Microfilm at the J. Eric Jonssan Central Library in Dallas, Texas. I think we can safely conclude that this Joseph was the brother of Robert James and the son of our Mahala since he was from Montgomery County Arkansas. More About Joseph Whisenant: Military service: Served in the Civil War, Confederate Army. See Notes. 4 iii. Mary Whisenant, born Abt. 1850 in Montgomery County, Alabama. 5 iv. Jane Whisenant, born Abt. 1852 in Montgomery County, Alabama. 6 v. Nancy Whisnant, born Abt. 1854 in Montgomery County, Alabama. + 7 vi. Robert James Whisenant, born 12 Apr 1860 in Montgomery County, Arkansas; died 13 Oct 1918 in Oakman, Oklahoma. Generation No. 2 7. Robert James2 Whisenant (Robert1) was born 12 Apr 1860 in Montgomery County, Arkansas, and died 13 Oct 1918 in Oakman, Oklahoma. He married Bettie Elizabeth Crump 22 Jul 1883 in Boles, Arkansas (Scott County), daughter of Charles Crump and Harriet Corbell. She was born 26 Apr 1866 in Arkansas, and died 28 Oct 1909 in Oakman, Oklahoma1. Notes for Robert James Whisenant: US Census, 1900 Oklahoma, Chickasaw Nat. This census does not list Hattie, wife of Scott, however, but she raised Roxie and Ola and they were living with Scott and Hattie. This census should have also listed their daughter, Geneva Lois as she was five years old then. This census info was from Raymond C. Both Robert and Elizabeth had died by then and Isabel and Roxie went to live with their sister, Hattie (Whisnant) Jones. More About Bettie Elizabeth Crump: Burial: Oakman Cemetary. I would appreciate any help to finding any information about Andy YOUNGBLOOD or his family.  I do know that he died in the 60's and that he lived in or around Jay or Eucha.  He had a wife whose name was Toy and she died in the 70's or 80's.  Andy might have even lived around Grove. My daughter is doing a family tree and we're having trouble finding information about the Youngblood side of the family.
