Dennis T. Flynn

Dennis T. Flynn was born at Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, in 1861. He was educated at Buffalo, New York, where he also studied law. In 1882, he settled at Kiowa, Kansas, on the northern border of Oklahoma, where he practiced law, served as postmaster and published a local newspaper. In 1889, he was commissioned as postmaster at Guthrie. In 1892, he was elected to Congress as a delegate from Oklahoma and was reelected in 1894. In 1896, he was renominated but was defeated in the election by James Y. Callahan, the fusion nominee. In 1898, and again in 1900, he was reelected as territorial delegate to Congress. He later became engaged engaged in the practice of law at Oklahoma City, where he later died.
