James Brooks Ayers Robertson
James B. A. Robertson was born on a farm in Keokuk County, Iowa, March 15, 1871, and was educated in the common schools of that state. At the age of twenty, he came to Oklahoma, locating at Chandler, in Lincoln County, where he followed farming and school teaching. In 1898, he was admitted to the bar and became engaged in the practice of law. He filled several official positions, serving as county attorney, district judge, and Justice of the Supreme Court Commission. He was prominent in fraternal affairs, having been honored with election to the office of Grand Sire of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. In 1918, he was nominated by the democrats and was elected to the office of governor of Oklahoma and was inaugurated in January, 1919. He died in Oklahoma City on March 7, 1938.
