Life In Nowata County in 1910
A glimpse of an ELLIOTT area pioneer family
John Baldridge
John is an 80 years old widower. He was born in Georgia about 1830. Both of
his parents were born there too. He is a farmer by trade. Living on the farm
with him is his housekeeper and her 11 years old son Harry. Mary Logan is a 45
years old widow woman. She was born in Iowa. Her father was born in Ohio and her
mother born in Pennsylvania. Mary has had 15 children. Only 9 of her children
are living at the present time. Her son Harry was born in Kansas. Harry does
help with the farm chores.

COFFEYVILLE area pioneer family
Russell Baldridge
Russell and his father were born in Oklahoma. His mother was born in Ohio.
Russell is a 29 years old married male. His wife, Viola, was born in 1890 in
Kansas. Her father was born in Arkansas and her mother born in Texas.
Viola
and Russell have been married for 6 years in 1910. She is the mother of 2
children but only one survived. Their daughter Thelma is 1 year and 8 months old
now. Russell is a farmer by trade.
Markers for Viola and Russell can be found at the Hickory Creek Cemetery.
Viola died in 1911. Russell Hays Baldridge died in 1950.
