Name: Gertrude Ann "Trudie" Green   Date: July 2nd, 1938 - August 7th, 2012   Obituary: Funeral Services for Gertrude “Trudie” Ann Whitehead Green, 74, of Okemah, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Okemah Church of Christ, 701 W. Broadway in Okemah, with Bro. James Branscum officiating, assisted by Kelly Bowen. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Green, Jimmy Green, Zachary Green, Jarrod Green, Justin Green and Clint Faram. Trudie was born July 2, 1938, in Passiac, N.J., to Theodore D. Whitehead and Lillian Otto. She married Joe Alfred Green on April 10, 1959, in El Reno, Okla. She passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. The Greens moved to Okemah in 1980. She was a member of Okemah Church of Christ and active with the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, where she was serving as president of the local chapter and sergeant-at-arms for the state chapter. She was also an avid supporter of the Mason High School basketball team. She enjoyed bus tours, reading, knitting and crochet. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Trudie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Alfred Green on Sept. 8, 1997, and son, Harley Dillard Green. She is survived by sons, Johnny Green and wife, Sandra, of Burleson, Texas, and Jimmy Green and wife, Janet, of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Monica Faram and husband, Clint, and Zachary and Allison Green, all of Burleson, Texas, Josslyn Green of Conroe, Texas, and Jarrod and Justin Green of Montgomery, Texas; great-granddaughter, London Faram; and step-great-granddaughter, Rachael Faram. Viewing will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Home, 301 N. 3rd St. in Okemah, on Thursday and Friday.
