The Newest Infant.
The honor of being the first child born in Oklahoma City this year belongs
to the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orpha Wright. The daughter was born
yesterday. Mr. Wright is an employe (sic) of the post office.

First Marriage Of The Current Year
Miss Alexander the First Local Bride of the New Year
Alfred William Amos of Memphis, Tenn., and Miss Susan A. Alexander, of this
city secured the first marriage license of the year issued out of the
probate court of Oklahoma county.
The young couple were married yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
residence of the bride's brother, John Alexander, at 317 West Third street.
An hour later they left over the Choctaw for Memphis, where they will make
their future home.
The bride has been a resident of this city for a number of years and has
a large acquaintance here. She is a sister of W. L. Alexander and J. S.
Alexander, two of the best known business men in the city.

Oklahoma City awoke yesterday morning to find itself in the first real cold
spell of the winter season...4 o'clock in the morning thermometer reached
26.5 degrees above zero.
Telegraph and telephone business to northern Oklahoma and western
Oklahoma on the main line of the Rock Island were practically at a
standstill ...wires covered with sleet and ice...weight...causing wires to
snap and fall...damage in thousands of dollars to property...
