Eight Are Near Death In A Crash
Two men were knocked unconscious, another suffered a severe scalp wound, a
buggy was demolished and an automobile badly damaged last night when eight
persons, occupants of a madly speeding automobile, flirted with death on a
dark street.
The injured:
William F. Watson, city agent for the Hartford Life Insurance company, badly
bruised and knocked unconscious.
Charles Carter, special insurance inspector, severely bruised and knocked
unconscious. Taken to hospital.
Dr. Bea. A. Riely, bad scalp wound.
In the party aside from those injured, were Ed Overholser...Mrs. Overholser,
Miss Sula Garrison, Miss Hattie Hawley and A. F. Blans...

Negro Deserter Arrested Here
Thomas Mason, a deserter from the Twenty-fifth negro regiment, U.S.A., is
under arrest...commanding officer of Fort Reno was notified...Mason deserted
in the western part of Oklahoma while en route from Fort Bliss at El Paso,
Tex. to Fort Wasika, Wyo., September 20, 1906, following the Brownsville
affair...enlisted at Fort Niobrara, Neb., in 1904, and had one year to
serve...has been in Oklahoma City since departure of his regiment to the Philippines.

Attorney's Father Dies
Attorney W. F. Wilson was called to his home at Cape Girardeau, Mo., yesterday
afternoon by a telegram announcing the death of his father.
