Rose Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum was started in April 1917 by Mr. John J. Harden. Its property borders Northwest Grand Boulevard on the east and Pennsylvania on the west. A cemetery of great heritage with a future of over one hundred years.

Mr. John E Daughterty is President of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. John E. Duncan is Manager.

$300,000 Mausoleum to be at Rose Hill Park
Construction of a mausoleum to be started within 30 days at Rose Hill Burial park, John J. Harden, president said Saturday.

The granite structure will house 1,000 crypts and will have a chapel 68x100 feet. Colored marble will be used throughout the interior with walls of imported Italian Bottocino marble, the floors will be terrazzo. The chapel will be highly ornamental and decorated with subdued tones.

Money was borrowed to finance the deal and there will be no sale of stock, Harden said.

Rose Hill has 1,500 Guests at Dedication

New Mausoleum and Chapel Cost $400,000.
John H. Harden, managing director of both the mausoleum and Rose Hill Cemetery, said of special interest was the mausoleum chapel, arrangement of marble, stained antique glass and organ pipes.

The mausoleum, part of Rose Hill cemetery faces east and its corridors contain 1,056 crypts. The building can be enlarged to contain 5,000.

City Cemetery Damaged by Vandals

Vandals pushed over about 100 monuments and broke several stained glass windows over the weekend.

John Harden, operator of the Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand... said the broken windows, which were part of the mausoleum, were at least 60 years old. Vandals cut a path of destruction almost a half-mile long, Harden said.
