William C. 'Bill" Adams, 73, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Nov. 20, 2001. He died after, a lengthy and courageous struggle with cancer. Bill was born on a farm near Gracemont, OK on June 17, 1928 to Francis Marion and Anna Elizabeth Adams.
He spent his formative years in and around OKC. Bill served in the U. S. Marine Corps, He attended Central State College in Edmond, where he received his BS degree in Business. Bill was employed by the Continental Oil Company for two years in Ponca City, where he met and married Donna Moran Huffman. A son, Ross, was later born to the couple. Donna had a son, Don, whom Bill helped raise and loved as his own. Bill transferred to Billings, Montana while working with Continental 0i1 Pipeline Company in 1961. He spent the last 20 Years of his working life with the Chicago Title Insurance Company.
In 1983, Bill married Jeanette Stark, the love of his life. Bill was a member of the Hilands Golf Club. He enjoyed playing golf with Jeanette and many of his friends. Other joys were to oil paint and draw, Bill was an active 40-year member of Grace UMC, where he was a choir member, and served on many committees within the church. At the time of, his death, Bill was the chairman of the church's Trustee Committee. Bill was a member and past president of the Billings Kiwanis Club.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; sons and their families, Ross and his wife Pamela, and grandson William; Don Huffman and his wife Beverly, and 4 grandsons. Also surviving are two sisters, Ardy the Cooprider and Nancy Powley, and their families, both of OKC.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack. A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 26 at Grace UMC, Billings, MT.
