Line Manager, Dies
J. Allen Appelget, 54, for 10 years traffic manager for H. J.
Jeffries Truck Lines, died Friday afternoon in his home, 608 NW
36 Terrace, following a 15-month illness. He died of Cancer.
Appelget, widely known in transportation circles, was born in
Sheridan, Wyoming. He moved to Woodward in 1900 and lived there
until 1925 when he went to Blackwell. He had been a resident of
Oklahoma City since 1931.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Siloam
Chapter, Eastern Star. He was also a Thirty-Second Degree
Mason.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Street & Draper
Chapel with Dr. Raymond Campbell, Pastor of Westminster
Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in
Memorial Park
Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Leah M., home address; two
daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Louise Tracey, 536 NW 31, and Mrs.
Dorothy Wenzel, 536 NW 31; a brother, Harold A. Appelget,
Kilgore, Texas, and three grandchildren. (There is a picture).
