Kathleen Barkett , was born on December 12, 1902 in Mt. Macedon, State of Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Sam and Jane Barkett . She went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 1994 in her home here in Oklahoma City. Her earthly pilgrimage was 92 years and 16 days. She was approximately eight years of age when she moved with her parents and family from Australia to the country of Lebanon. The family resided in Lebanon for approximately one year. In the year 1911, the family thence immigrated to the United States where they located in Oklahoma City, where Kathleen has spent the greater part of her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Maude Andeel and Mary Abdoo; and one brother, Thomas Barkett . Those of the immediate family who will greatly miss her prayers are one sister, Timmie Baracat of Oklahoma City; and several nephews and nieces; as well as grand nephews and grand nieces. In addition, an innumerable host of friends in Christ whose lives she touched in one way or another will miss her intercession. Kathleen reported that she heard the Gospel and called upon the Lord for salvation when she was in her twenties. The Gospel of Jesus Christ so gripped her heart early on that she literally gave herself to its proclamation during the greater part of her life. Indeed, she had a passion to win souls for Christ, especially children. Kathleen 's was a life of faith, trusting God on a daily basis for His physical provision for her livelihood as she gave herself to Bible teaching and personal evangelism. God in His sovereign grace gave her a special gift of positive Christian witness and evangelism, which she used to the fullest.

Kathleen 's presence and prayers will be missed by an innumerable host of family and friends. Thank God for the life of Kathleen Barkett! Services will be on Thursday, December 29, 1994, 11:00 a.m. at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel, Bethany, Ok. Interment Fairlawn Cemetery.
