BARRETT

Tom Barrett was born on August 11, 1948 to Edward Van (deceased) and Mary Ann Barrett. Tom passed away on March 4, 2002 at the age of 53 years.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Lynda Barrett; two children, son Jason Barrett, daughter-in law, Brandi, and granddaughter Sage, daughter Casey Howard, son-in-law Mark, and granddaughter Addison, and very special great nephew Cody Alarafl.

Tom went to Mount Saint Mary's High School and graduated UCO with a BA in Business. Right out of college, he went to work for Cimmaron Equipment, which was later bought by Timpte Trailers, where he became manager. He later became owner of Sooner Great Dane Trailers. After 30 years, as owner, boss, and friend to his many employees, he will be greatly missed. Tom's great love for water and fishing brought him many hours of enjoyment of enjoyment at their home in Corpus Christi and many wonderful memories for all the family. The Barrett household was always open to family and friends. So welcome were their children and their children's friends, they still return even after they all married and started families of their own. Tom's personality always led him to give anyone 200%, never expecting anything in return, and projects were never finished until he gave his all. After an outing to Remington Park in 1988 where they claimed their first horse at a claming race, they became hooked on horses, racing, and everything that came with it.

Tom and Lynda's life together started in their teen-age years, and many thought it would never last. Thirty-four exceptional years later, they have remained best friends. Their love for each other and their many adventures have made for a wonderful and memorable life together.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 3030 NW Expressway, Ste. 1300, OKC, 73112. Services to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2002 at 12:00 noon in the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.
