Betty Lou Frank Barrett, 88, born December 22, 1920, in her
maternal grandparents' home in Oklahoma City, OK, to parents
Myrel and Howard Frank of Yukon, passed away on January 9, 2009.
She was a devoted, loving wife for 44 years to her Yukon High
School sweetheart, Cliff Barrett, who preceded her in death in
1985. She was also preceded in death by their eldest daughter,
Carol Merrill, in 1993, her parents Myrel in 2003 and Howard
Frank in 1988, and her brother, H.B. Frank, Jr. of Macon, GA who
passed on Christmas Day 2008. She is survived by her sisters:
Joan Barrett of OKC and Mary Kay Niles of Yukon. She is lovingly
remembered by her daughters Kathy Lee and Claudia Bateman, both
of OKC, as "a virtuous woman."
She is also survived by Kathy's husband, David, and Claudia's
husband, Grady. She was a much-loved grandmother of five
grandchildren, their spouses, and three great-grandchildren:
Granddaughter Aspen Lee-Moulden and her husband Adam Moulden and
their children Hadley and Jack Moulden of San Carlos, CA
grandson Christopher Lee, also of San Carlos, CA grandson Brian
Bateman and his wife, Jodi, of Edmond and their two- month-old
daughter, Katelynn granddaughters Julie Elliott of Tulsa and
Emily Bateman of Dallas, TX. As well as being a loving wife and
mother, Betty was a devoted member of the Christian Science
church and served on many committees, taught Sunday School, and
served as Second Reader. The family is very grateful for the
quality of care Betty received from the loving, professional
nurses and caregivers at the Concordia Life Care Community. A
special thank you to Francis York who gave excellent care to
Mother from her first day at Concordia and has become a dear
friend to the family. We also wish to thank Delba Murphy, the
Activities Director, for enriching Mother's life just as she
does for all the residents and family members. We would also
like to convey our heartfelt gratitude to Erica Snook and Doris
Green from Good Shepherd Hospice who so lovingly cared for our
mother over several months. We are deeply grateful.
A family memorial service will be held January 17th. In lieu of
flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the
Adventure Unlimited Camps, Greenwood, CO.
