Daily Oklahoman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma January 22, 1957 page 5 James L. Bird Sr. Rites for James L. Bird Sr. of 701-A SE 20, will be in Hunter funeral home at 10 am Wednesday. Burial will be in the cemetery at Glencoe. A retired Douglas Aircraft Co. worker, Bird, 67, died Sunday afternoon. Born at Fairport, Mo., he came to Oklahoma at the turn of the century, and settled near Glencoe. After attending school at Quincy, Ill., he moved to Oklahoma City about 1938. Among the survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Etta Haynes, Bryan, Texas and Mrs. Ellen Louise Nelson, Walnut Creek, Calif. Contributed by Marti Graham, December 2003.
