Deeds Land To Son And Is Turned Out? Mother Sues
With allegations of cruel treatment and breach of contract for her
support during the remaining years of her life, Mrs. Nancy Bair (sic)
of Jones City filed suit in the district court last evening for $2,500
damages from her son, Hardin L. Blair.
Mrs. Lair (sic) is 74 years of age is now making her home with her
daughter, Mrs. T. J. Allen.
According to allegations of the petition, a verbal contract was formed
between Mrs. Blair and her son, October 27, 1897, by which he was in care
for her during the declining years for which she deeded him 160 acres of
land in Garfield county. It was valued at $2,500 at that time, but is now
said to be worth $6,000. For seven years, the plaintiff alleges, she was
forced to submit to cruel treatment, taunts and petty annoyances until she
was compelled to leave their home.
The plaintiff is represented by Attorneys Giddings, Giddings and Lindsey.
