They Pleaded Not Guilty
Six Prisoners Brought From Luther Charged With Shooting and Shipping Quail
Six prisoners were brought in from Luther yesterday morning and arraigned
in probate court on a warrant charging them with shooting and shipping quail
in violation of the territorial game law. They all pleaded not guilty and gave
bond for their appearance for trial on January 29.
The names of the six defendants are as follows: J. A. Blizzard, J. T.
Taylor, R. R. Johnson, Henry Darnell, Ed Wilkinson and J. S. Evans,
agent for the Frisco railroad. They are all well known citizens of the Luther
vicinity and in their embarrassing trip to this city were accompanied by a
delegation of other citizens, who secured their bonds.
The information against these defendants was filed by Game Warden Post,
and the deputy sheriff at Luther brought the prisoners to court.
