Mrs. Briscoe's Funeral Today

Gainesville, Texas. Services for Mrs.Elsie Brisco, 55, wife of city policeman Joe Briscoe, will be held at 2pm Saturday at Geo. J. Caroll and Son's chapel.

She left her home here about Thursday afternoon in a taxicab, and instructed the driver to let her out at the south end of the Denison dam on Lake Texoma.

Her body was found about 8 pm near the intake gate at the dam. C. B. Carroll, justice of the peace of Denison, returned an inquest verdict of suicide. Mrs. Brisco had been ill for several months.

She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., but moved to Texas many years ago.

Surviors are her husband; one son; Joe.jr., Denison; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Gradel of Pensacola,Fla., three brothers Clay Allen of Denton, Leonard Allen of California and Pat Allen of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Miss Melissa Allen and Mrs. Suzie Howell both of Gainesville and five grandhildren.
