Luther Farmer Dies at Age 76; Funeral Slated
Luther - J[ohn] Raymond Briscoe, 76, of Luther, died Monday
at Edmond Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the First Christian
Church in Luther with burial in Luther Cemetery, under the
direction of Baggerly Funeral Home, Edmond.
Brisco, a retired farmer, was a lifetime resident of Luther.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, served as a
chaplain and past master of the Masonic Lodge 369 in Wellston
and as past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star 276
also in Wellston.
He was a Rainbow Dad, a past president and director of the
Central Rural Electric Cooperative in Stillwater and a charter
member of the Luther Lions Club and the Luther Farmers Union.
He is survived by his wife, Lola; a son, John R. Jr., Luther;
two brothers, Loren and Erman, both of Luther; a sister, Mrs.
Ima Lambert, Long Beach, Calif, and seven grandchildren.
