Wanda Jo Brown , 68, of Midwest City died Wednesday, August 18, 2004. She was born February 12, 1936 in Oklahoma City, OK. Jo retired from Tinker AFB in 1996 as a supervisor in the printing office. Jo loved to read and travel around the country with her husband Les in their motorhome. She had a strong spiritual faith with God and she was an inspiration to many people. Jo was a Hospice volunteer, literary tutor helping individuals learn to speak and read English. She was a member of Meadowood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and she was very active in different grief support groups. Jo had a special wit and her smile could lighten up a room. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Brown , father, James C. (papa) Patterson, mother, Dorothy Patterson, nephew, Bill Sedbrook, and nephew, Chris Hensler. She is survived by 2 sisters: Wathenia Thomas of Delta Junction, AK and Carmelita Sedbrook-Walton, Moore, OK; daughter, Leigh Ann Morse, Midwest City, OK; son, Robert E. Carr, Jr., Midwest City, OK; 3 stepdaughters: Sandra Carr Bessler, La Palma, CA, Gail Lee, Mustang, OK, and Nancy Ingram, Midwest City, OK; granddaughters: Felicity Anne Morse, Midwest City, OK and Monica Campbell, Mustang, OK; 3 nephews: Russ Sedbrook, Moore, OK, Alan Head, Fairbanks, AK, Wickcliff Thomas, lssaquah, WA; and niece, Tawn Head, Albuquerque, NM. Family will receive friends Friday, August 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ford Funeral Service.

Services will be held Saturday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m. at Meadowood Baptist Church, burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
